Formulation of the “Strengthening the Transparency System for Enhanced Climate Action” Project in Côte d’Ivoire – GEF CBIT
This mission aims to support Côte d’Ivoire in strengthening its national climate transparency framework, in accordance with Article 13 of the Paris Agreement. The project seeks to establish the necessary instruments and mechanisms to ensure monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) of progress in the implementation of the country’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC).
The services provided included:
Formulation of the project document in UNDP/GEF format, including all required annexes
Drafting the project approval request for the GEF CEO (GEF CEO Endorsement Request)
Development of the GEF Climate Change Mitigation Tracking Tool
Conducting the Social and Environmental Screening in accordance with UNDP procedures
This intervention is part of the Capacity-Building Initiative for Transparency (CBIT), funded by the GEF, aimed at strengthening the institutional capacities of developing countries to meet international climate transparency requirements.
