Energy characterization study of equipment in the agriculture and maritime fisheries sector
This strategic study is part of national efforts to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions in high-energy-consuming sectors. Its main objective is the technical and energy characterization of equipment used in the agriculture and maritime fisheries sectors in Morocco.
The study aims to:
Identify energy-intensive equipment, the types of fuels used, their performance, age, brand/model, and GHG emission levels
Determine the energy classes of the equipment
Develop a national energy performance reference framework
Propose energy labeling standards for the equipment
Estimate the energy-saving potential by equipment category
Analyze production systems, producer practices, and farm typologies
This assignment provides a solid technical foundation for implementing targeted energy efficiency policies in two key sectors of the national economy.
