Development of Morocco’s NDC Roadmap as Part of the Implementation of the Paris Agreement
This project was launched to structure the implementation of Morocco’s NDC, in line with the commitments made under the Paris Agreement. Its objective was to define a clear roadmap, supported by effective inter-institutional governance and coordinated sectoral monitoring.
The main achievements of the project were:
Facilitating an inter-ministerial workshop on NDC governance to identify roles, responsibilities, and coordination mechanisms among stakeholders
Developing a structured report on the NDC governance framework, based on recommendations from institutional consultations
Conducting targeted sectoral consultations (energy, forestry, transport, water, waste, housing, etc.) to assess the level of engagement and preparedness of key sectors
Facilitating a second inter-ministerial workshop focused on assessing the progress of the NDC implementation
Drafting a synthesis report on NDC implementation, highlighting achieved progress, ongoing challenges, and key institutional, technical, or financial barriers
This project established a crucial strategic foundation to accelerate national climate action while strengthening coordination among the relevant ministries and sectors
