Technical assistance for the implementation of the GCCA+ West Africa project to operationalize ECOWAS’s Regional Climate Strategy
This project, led by Baastel and Expertise France, supports the implementation of ECOWAS’s Regional Climate Strategy (RCS) under the GCCA+ West Africa program. Its objective is to strengthen the capacities of regional and national actors in climate risk management, promote the development of integrated adaptation and mitigation strategies, and foster regional cooperation for coordinated and effective climate actions.
The consultancy includes the following tasks:
Strengthening alignment with ECOWAS’s 2050 Vision
Mainstreaming gender in the strategy, in collaboration with ECOWAS’s Gender Development Centre
Revising mitigation scenarios to align with the updated NDCs from COP26 and regional energy and transport policies
Developing a 5-year cross-cutting action plan to operationalize the Regional Climate Strategy
