Support to APIA (Tunisia) for Accessing Climate Finance and Accreditation with the Green Climate Fund
This mission, conducted in collaboration with Baastel and within the framework of AFD’s Adapt’Action Facility, aimed to support Tunisia’s Agricultural Investment Promotion Agency (APIA) in its accreditation process with the Green Climate Fund (GCF). The objective is to enable APIA to mobilize financing for adaptation and mitigation projects in the agricultural sector, in alignment with Tunisia’s Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) and the goals of the Paris Agreement.
The mission included the following services:
Assessment of APIA’s capacities against GCF requirements and development of an improvement action plan
Strengthening institutional and individual capacities, particularly in fiduciary management, environmental and social safeguards, and governance
Technical support for the preparation of APIA’s accreditation application
Training on the development of concept notes for the formulation of future projects to be submitted to the GCF
