Support for the Implementation of Morocco’s NDC: Sectoral Agendas, Partnerships, Monitoring, and Review
As part of strengthening national climate action, this project was implemented to support the State Secretariat for Sustainable Development in operationalizing Morocco’s Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC). It aimed to structure sectoral efforts, reinforce international partnerships, and ensure rigorous monitoring of commitments made under the Paris Agreement.
The mission focused on the following actions:
Facilitating the co-development process of Sectoral Action Agendas for the effective implementation of the NDC
Updating the partnership plan with the NDC Partnership to mobilize targeted technical and financial support
Establishing a monitoring and reporting tool for climate commitments through the NDC Tracker
Reviewing the national commitments outlined in the NDC in light of the new Sustainable Development Goals and emerging sectoral priorities
This project helped strengthen Morocco’s climate governance by ensuring better intersectoral coordination and strategic alignment with international climate support mechanisms
