Update of the Territorial Plan for Climate Change Mitigation (PTRC) and strengthening of the regional MRV system in the Souss-Massa region
As part of Phase II of the ICAT Morocco project, this assignment continues the efforts of the initial phase by strengthening the regional climate transparency framework while integrating a climate change adaptation approach.
Key objectives:
Update the PTRC of the Souss-Massa region to align it with Morocco’s revised Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC)
Complete the establishment of a functional regional MRV system to monitor and evaluate mitigation and adaptation actions via an existing platform
Develop internal regulations structuring the functioning of the regional climate transparency framework
Strengthen the technical and institutional capacities of regional actors involved in climate governance
Ensure communication and dissemination of results to stakeholders and territorial decision-makers
This project aims to provide the region with an operational and integrated monitoring framework, facilitating impact measurement, tracking of climate commitments, and mobilization of funding for sustainable and resilient actions.
