Enviro Consulting International had the pleasure of organizing the launch workshop for the project "Strengthening the National Transparency Framework on Climate Finance in Morocco" on March 5, 2024, in Rabat.

This project, funded by the Initiative for Climate Action Transparency (ICAT), is the result of a memorandum of understanding between the United Nations Office for Project Services (UNOPS) and Morocco's Department of Sustainable Development. It will span a duration of 12 months and is focused on five components:

• The development of the scope and impact indicators for monitoring climate finance;
• The definition of institutional arrangements;
• The establishment of a detailed budget for the implementation of the NDC (Nationally Determined Contribution);
• The establishment of a system for monitoring national and international climate financing, along with the development of related tools and guidelines;
• The development of a reporting roadmap on climate finance, taking into account international, national/subnational financing, as well as public and private sources.

The workshop saw the participation of sixty representatives from various stakeholders, including government departments, public agencies and offices, public interest groups, private and public banks, the private sector, civil society associations, as well as international cooperation organizations. It was a valuable opportunity to discuss the project's objectives and the initial elements of its methodology for tracking climate finance at the national level.

The firm ECI is the designated grantee of the agreement for the implementation of this project, with monitoring provided by Gauss International.
